Weightlifter Darya Naumava wins silver at World Universiade

The hammer thrower Pavel Boreisha and weightlifter Daria Naumova on August 24 brought Belarus silver medals at the Summer Universiade in Taipei.

Boreisha sent the hammer to 77 meters 98 centimeters in the best attempt.

This was exactly three meters further than the bronze medalist from Moldova, Sergei Margiev.

However, Pole Paweł Fajdek was second to none. Boreisha lost to Fajdek more than one meter.

In the women's weightlifting Darya Naumava became second in the snatch and clean & jerk in the weight category of up to 75 kilograms.

On the podium, Darya was the only European athlete.

Other places on the podium went to Asians - Jong Sim Rim and Chi-Ling Yao.
