Captain Vitaly Rodionov ready to help BATE against Oleksandriya in Europa League

BATE Borisov skipper Vitaly Rodionov is ready to be in squad in today's match of the Europa League playoff vs Ukrainian Oleksandriya.

The Borisov team began the current European Cup season in the Champions League qualification without their captain Vitaly Rodionov, who was serving a disqualification.

In his absence, Alexander Ermakovich's team outplayed Armenian Alaskert 1:1 (at home) and 3:1 (away), and then lost on aggregate to Czech Slavia 0:1 (away) and 2:1 (at home). According to experts and fans, the result could be different if Rodionov was on the pitch.

FC Oleksandriya participate in European cup tournaments for the second time in their history. In this season, Oleksandriya met with Romanian Astra and beat them 0:0 (away) and 1:0 (at home).

The head coach of the Ukrainians Vladimir Sharan considers BATE a favorite, but promises that his charges will fight against the Belarusian champion, and the final result will be known only on August 24 in Ukraine when the second leg is completed.

The match at Borisov-Arena will be refereed by Hungarian umpires, led by Tamás Bognár. The game kicks off at 20.00 Belarus time. The return match will be held on August 24 in Oleksandriya.
