Cirque du Soleil artist: Most of our troupe is from former Soviet Union

Dmitry Lyubashenko and Darina Mishina, artists of Cirque du Soleil, have given an interview to the TV program Simple Questions with Yegor Khrustalev.

You made your way, became a part of this amazing show, but it's probably very difficult... How did you get into the troupe?

Dmitry Lyubashenko, Cirque du Soleil:
I will debunk a myth about the fact that we are special. Basically, a very large part of our troupe are people from the CIS.

These are Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

Lots of them. In the whole company, 60% are Russian speaking.

So, they only started without Russian, Belarusians and Ukrainians?

Dmitry Lubashenko:
I think such a proportion has always been the case. There are always a lot of participants from the former Soviet Union.
