Belarus beat Portugal in European Pre-Qualifiers of FIBA World Cup

Belarusian basketball players in the pre-qualification for the FIBA World Cup beat Portugal in the Minsk Palace of Sports with a score of 78:75.

The starting ten minutes of the match belonged to Belarus, with Artem Parakhovsky and forward Dmitry Poleshchuk providing a comfortable advantage for Belarusians 26:10. The coaching staff at the end of the period ventured to replace several leaders. After a short break, in the second quarter, the situation changed in favor of the visitors. The Portuguese defender Barroso led the attack scoring two times from the three-point line.

In the first round of the qualification, Belarus lost to Bulgaria away (68:78). Belarus take on Bulgaria again on August 16 at Falcon Club.
