Belarus' gold reserves exceed $6.6 billion

After a record high June index the growth of gold and foreign exchange reserves continued growth in July, too.

The reason is the proceeds from the sale by the National Bank of foreign currency bonds. Foreign currency trading and increase in funds in bank accounts also played a certain role in the process.

Belarus' reserve assets as of August 1 were $6.665 billion.

The Belarus government and the National Bank in July performed external and internal obligations in foreign currency to the tune of $533 million.
