Belarus wins 10 awards at Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Minsk

Belarusians have won 10 awards at Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, two of which were gold. On the final day, on August 6, finals took place in separate events in individual and group events.

Hosts Belarus were widely represented in the Sunday program. The leader of the national team - Ekaterina Galkina - probably wanted to prove her worth in the ribbon event, which the day before had prevented her from winning in the all-around. But this time she did not succeed either. However, Galkina won gold in the ball and took bronze in the hoop event.

Young Alina Gornosko is also improving: on August 5, she managed to get around her older teammate in the all-around and on August 6 she climbed on the podium three times in individual events. In the group event, Belarus won silver in the hoops event and then bagged gold in the event with balls and skipping ropes.

Irina Leparskaya, head coach of Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team:
I am very happy that it is really a festival - a festival of sport, a festival of beauty and (I would especially say) - a festival of fair rhythmic gymnastics. During these three days there has been not a single remark either to judges, or from the coaches. Everything is fair!

Later Belarus will partake in the final World Cup, in Kazan, at which the Belarusians will be represented by the same team: Ekaterina Galkina and Alina Gornosko in the individual program, as well as a group event team. After that, all eyes will be on Italian Pesaro, where the 35th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships will be held.
