World Heritage of Francysk Skaryna book presented in Minsk

The World Heritage of Francysk Skaryna book has been presented in the National Art Museum of Belarus.

The four kilogram edition consists of 25 books of the Belarusian printing pioneer Francysk Skaryna. On the 425 pages photographs of the works of the famous Belarusian are presented. Today they are located in the museums of the world, from Minsk to Cambridge.

Alexander Susha, deputy director of the National Library of the Republic of Belarus:
We tried to put all the works of the Belarusian enlightener into one big tome. As many as 500 editions from different countries are presented. Their caseworks, manuscript notes on the books of Skaryna, manuscript copies of certain fragments, engravings, letters or initials, head ornaments, which impress any person, have been presented here as well.

It took five years to finish the book. The act that the book was presented in the year of 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing is symbolic in a way.
