Manuscripts of Yanka Bryl displayed in public for the first time

The exhibition "I write as I live" opened in Minsk on the 100th anniversary of the birth of BSSR People's Writer Yanka Bryl.

Among the unique materials are not only texts, but also pictures.

They depict the childhood and student years that Yanka Bryl spent away from home.

Viktor Zhibul, researcher at the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art:
Large parts of these pictures are made by known photo master Vladimir Kruk, who worked in the offices of literary publications and was friends with many writers.

The vast majority of materials of the exhibition is taken from the personal fund of Yanka Bryl which is stored in our archive museum "Literature and Art".

He wrote about WWII and his fellow countrymen. Yanka Bryl authored short stories, novels and lyrical miniatures. The main work of the master is the novel "Birds and Nests", which has been translated into dozens of languages.
