Fitch changes Belarus' credit rating to positive

The international rating agency Fitch has changed the credit rating of Belarus from "stable" to "positive". Analysts came to the conclusion that the country's economy is showing good structural indicators.

The improvement of Belarus's access to external financing, as well as an increase in the gold and foreign exchange reserves, has allowed Fitch to make such a conclusion.

In addition, Fitch notes the positive impact on the economy of the fact that Belarus reached an agreement with Russia on gas prices.

Fitch sums up the performance of each economy several times a year. Their conclusions are used primarily by lenders.
