Belarus and Russia release 30,000 sterlet fish to the Dnieper River

Environmentalists of Belarus and Russia have implemented a joint project.

More than 30,000 sterlet fish were released in the Dnieper River on the western outskirts of Smolensk.

This is the first stocking of the river after the large plague that occurred in 2016. There are no borders for water inhabitants, but on both sides ecologists have many projects. Their further plans are to release in the Dnieper fry of pike and pike perch.
