Six Belarusian schoolchildren win medals at International Mathematics Olympiad in Brazil

Belarusian schoolchildren won six medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad. In 2017, the capital of Brazil welcomed the best math minds.

The competitions were held in several stages - each participant was offered the most difficult tasks, which took a little more than an hour to complete. Gold medals were awarded only to those mathematicians who, in the aggregate, scored more than 25 points. Of the six hundred school students, only 50 won gold. Among them is Gomel resident Yegor Dubovik.

In total, the Belarusian team won one silver and 4 bronzes. In the team event Belarus took 14th place. Teams from 111 countries took part in the competition.
