Belarusian Yegor Gerasimov reaches quarterfinal of tennis tournament in Astana

Belarusian tennis player Yegor Gerasimov has got a second victory and reached the quarter finals of a tournament in Astana (the prize fund is $125,000).

In the second round Ygor Gerasimov confidently beat Turkish tennis player Cem İlkel, 6:2, 6:3. In the opening match Gerasimov defeated Andrei Golubev from Kazakhstan, 6:1, 6:1. Yegor Gerasimov's rival in the quarterfinals will be Russian Yevgeny Donskoy.

Another Belarusian Yaraslav Shyla lost in the last 16 to Kazakhstani Mikhail Kukushkin, 4:6, 1:6. In the first round of the singles, Shila won against Russian Ivan Nedelko, 7:6 (7:5), 6:4. In the doubles, Shila is paired with Ukrainian Vladislav Manafov. They have reached the quarterfinals. Another, Belarusian-Kazakh tandem of Dmitry Zhirmont / Timur Khabibulin, has made it into the same round too.

At the tournament in Croatian Umag (482,000 euros), Belarusian Max Mirnyi and Canadian Daniel Nestor in the first round knocked out the Belarusian-Bosnian duo Alexander Buryi / Damir Dzumhur. Mirnyi and Nestor then beat Russia's Mikhail Elgin and Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan in the semi-final match.
