Belarus plans to increase IT exports in 2017

Belarus plans to increase its exports of IT products by $1 billion in 2017, said July 18 the State Committee for Science and Technology.

The results of the country's innovative development were summed up in Minsk. During the 10 years the Belarusian IT industry has stepped forward. Belarus has improved the legal framework and innovative infrastructure. The next step is providing scientists with the so-called risk right.

Alexander Shumilin, head of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus:
20 state scientific and technical programs are being implemented, and 20% of resources are allocated to risky projects, showing that we can get results on these risky projects. As they say, make money and get it back.

Innovative entrepreneurship will continue to develop in Belarus too. Today, we already have 10 technology parks and eight technology transfer centers. In 2016 alone, similar sites produced twice as many IT products than in 2015 and created 300 jobs.
