Belarusian agricultural technologies on Sakhalin: Belarus-Russia pilot project to kick off in October

An animal breeding complex with Belarusian technologies will be built on Sakhalin in October of the current year. This pilot Belarus-Russia project will present a farm with 1000 heads of cattle and a processing milk plant.

On all the levels of building of the modern agricultural complex Belarusian experience is used. Cows will be brought to the island from Belarus. It is expected that the produced goods of the complex will be exported to continental Russia, China, Korea and Japan.

Leonid Zayats, Agriculture and Food Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
Everything modern which we are used to seeing in agro towns here, we are planning to implement there. They are interested in Belarus’ experience. They want Belarusian specialists to establish a production line of young potatoes on Sakhalin, and the production of ground crops based on the technologies of the Republic of Belarus.

What is more, an agro town of 50 houses will be built in the settlement as well. Belarusian specialists will be taking part in the building.
