Guests on 2017 Slavonic Bazaar Festival in Vitebsk

Vitebsk does not sleep today. It's noisy and there's a lot of fun around the city. The XXVI International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk officially opened yesterday in the evening.

Guests began to gather for the big concert long before its start. The organizers promised a grand show and did not deceive the audience. The entire constellation of Belarusian and foreign performers shone yesterday evening on the Vitebsk stage. Spectators came with flowers and a good mood and many of them overcame hundreds and even thousands of kilometers to be in the center of the Slavic friendship.

Guests of the festival:
This is our first time live. Of course, we watched all this on the TV channels and it was very interesting. Various teams from different countries come here. It's gorgeous! It's a very good tradition that attracts a large number of tourists to Vitebsk.

This is our dream. We have dreamt of getting here. Vitebsk is such a beauty! We loved this city very much.

I live in Russia. But I was born in Belarus. It's nice to return to your homeland, to see such a wonderful holiday. This is already a tradition. We come here every year with friends.

The Belarus President opened the festival saying that Slavic brotherhood plays an important role in today’s world.

Among other highlights of the day, Russian singer Tamara Gverdtsiteli received the award Through Art to Mutual Understanding and her personal star was unveiled in Vitebsk's Alley of Stars.

The children's song competition Vitebsk 2017 was held just before the opening of Slavianski Bazaar. The Belarusian Maria Magilnaya outpaced her competitors to scoop the main award.
