Belarus plans joining Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse

International experts discussed the problem of child abuse in Minsk.

The issue is rather popular in the modern society. Thanks to the internet such crimes become known of more often. Teenagers become victims of the virtual world more. They are the most active internet users.

As many as 300 cases were closed in Belarus in 2016.

Yuri Varavko, Head of the Methodological Support Department of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee:
Belarus is striving to join the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse. A range of rules is set for the member states. During the meeting the Belarusian sided listened to these variants, qualifications.

Correspondingly, Belarus will then be able to perfects the legislation system and react to problems timely.
