2018 may be declared Year of Tourism in Belarusian-Chinese relations

Belarus needs to tell the world about itself more bravely, said on July 11 the head of state.

From year to year Belarusian-Chinese relations are growing stronger. Over 25 years of diplomatic relations, mutual trade has increased almost 100 times! The investment cooperation has been established: one of the key sites of the Silk Road will be the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park The Great Stone.

Nine residents of the park are already registered.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
Belarus should take advantage of the historic chance and become an important transit, logistics, production, and technological link in this new transcontinental integration project. An effective tool is the industrial park Great Stone, which the chairman of the PRC called the pearl of the economic belt of the Silk Road. It must be used to attract the most advanced technologies and industries from around the world.

I emphasize: from all around the world, not just China. The conditions for this have been created.

Предлагается в белорусско-китайских отношениях 2018 год объявить годом туризма

It is from China from where a huge number of tourists come. On the one hand, the conditions are created. For example, Chinese guests in groups can visit Belarus and stay up to three days here without visas. On the other hand, there are some problems. Kiryl Rudy makes his proposals.

Kiryl Rudy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China:
The first sentence is related to the Chinese language. It is proposed to increase its study both in Belarusian schools (we still have only 10 such schools) and universities (we have only two such universities so far). The second proposal is to introduce a law which obliges embassies to give consent to the opening and liquidation of representative offices of Belarusian state organizations, as well as to the appointment of their chiefs. And the third, the last proposal. It is proposed to declare 2018 the year of tourism in the Belarusian-Chinese relations.

Alexander Lukashenko:
Do it so that all these decisions are implemented by September.
