Time to talk about digital revolution: Congress of Russian Press underway in Minsk

The XIX World Congress of the Russian Press is taking place in Minsk on July 11. Before the forum began, journalists and other media representatives went to the Victory Monument in the center of Belarus' capital, where they honored the memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War.

The Congress of Russian Press is held annually. Belarus hosts it for the second time. On July 12, Minsk will become a discussion platform of a global scale. Taking part in the plenary session - the key event of the media forum - will be representatives of Russian-language press from over 50 countries. Global themes will be talked over. For example, participants will discuss media activities in the digital reality environment, as well as the role of the press in covering military conflicts.

Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy Director General of TASS, Executive Secretary of the World Association of Russian Press:
Naturally, we discuss professional issues at our congresses too. Today, in the face of modern challenges, in the face of technological and other challenges, it is time to talk about the digital revolution in our professional business.

Anastasia Lesnikova, editor-in-chief of the magazine My Malta (Russia):
The annual Congress certainly helps us to exchange experience, get professional advice, and exchange contacts. Again, we create some alliances.

The forum participants will be offered not only the official but also cultural program. In the evening, journalists will visit the National Olympic Committee. Guests will be shown an exhibition of sports achievements of Belarus. The presentation of the Second European Games, which will be held in Belarus in 2019, will take place there.
