Victoria Azarenka has been knocked out of Wimbledon 2017. In the last 16 the Belarusian met with world number 2, Romania's Simona Halep.

The first set lasted almost an hour and ended on a tie-break, but the Belarusian failed to win it.

In the second set Halep did even better leaving Azarenka far behind 5:0.

The Belarusian took two games, but it was not enough. Halep sails past Azarenka in two sets: 7:6, 6:2.

By the way, after this victory the Romanian tennis player guaranteed herself top spot in the world rankings.

Max Mirnyi, who has recently turned 40, did well in the second round of the men's Wimbledon doubles. The legend of Belarusian tennis is playing together with Pole Marcin Matkowski, 36.

The Slavic tandem has recently beaten the Bryan brothers. The Americans could not a set, losing 3:6, 5:7, 4:6.

Then in the last 16, Mirnyi and Matkowski overpowered A. Sitak and N. Monroe 6:3, 3:6, 6:3, 6:4. Now in the quarterfinals they will take on M. Pavić of Croatia and O. Marach of Austria.
