Belarus to supply meat to China: Agreement signed in Minsk

More than 20 Belarusian enterprises got the right to export beef to China. The agreement on supplies was signed in Minsk by the Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus and the Main State Administration for Quality Control, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China.

The decision to open the market was made following a series of inspections conducted by Chinese specialists. The latter, by the way, ended two weeks ago.

Let us note that Belarus is the largest supplier of chilled beef meat in the post-Soviet space. Belarus is seventh top exporter of it in the world. And this is now certainly not the limit. The next stage of cooperation between Belarus and China is certification of domestic river fish.

Zhi Shuping, Minister of the State Administration for Quality Control, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China:
Only quality products can be competitive in the Chinese market. China and Belarus are friendly countries, strategic partners. And now there are very tight mutual deliveries. We would like your goods to enter our market so that our people can taste safe and quality Belarusian products.

Alexander Subbotin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus:
China is a special country in terms of its mentality, in terms of approach to food. Our products there are already known as those of high-quality, useful, dietary, and high-value. But they still have to win their niche. After all, Chinese don't have culture of cheese consumption (it is just beginning), there is no culture of consumption of steaks and so on. That is, here we are only at the very beginning.

Export of Belarusian agricultural products in January-May increased by more than 28% compared to the same period in 2016, primarily thanks to sales of dairy products and meat products.
