International School of Belarusian Studies opens in Minsk July 4

More than 60 foreigners will study the Belarusian language and get acquainted with Belarusian literature and history. The course will involve students from India, Japan, the United States, Indonesia, Spain and Sweden - all in all from 18 countries.

The foreign students will undergo 80 hours of lectures and seminars, during which they will improve oral and written speech, as well as consider the subtleties and nuances of the Belarusian language.

They will have not only lessons but also other kinds of training which involve real immersion into the culture of Belarus. They will take part in rituals and traditions of the bathing night, which takes place during Kupala Night (the night of 6/7 July).
