Alexander Lukashenko at the fourth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

Presidents of Belarus and Russia discussed the most important subjects during the fourth Forum of Regions, which was held in Moscow. Economy is on the first place. Cooperation in production, taking down the barriers in exporting food from Belarus to Russia, oil and gas.

Ivan Bambiza, Deputy State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia:
Presidents of Belarus and Russia met, business met, agreements were made. And decisions have been made.

Technologies and innovations will be a platform for further cooperation of the two countries. Minsk and St. Petersburg have agreed to exchange architecture projects; however, the project is drowning in bureaucratic ravines.

Georgy Poltavchenko, St. Petersburg governor:
The work is being carried out. Nevertheless, if the legislation in this direction was more advanced, it would be better.

The speech of Alexander Lukashenko was greeted with a round of applause at the Forum of Regions.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
We need to move at this pace, to create our mutual area and demonstrate to everyone that no sanctions, pressure will not interfere with our work. We will get over everything.

As many as 60% of smart economics belong to the USA and the EU. Belarus And Russia need to keep together in order not to lose the moment.

Alexander Lukashenko:
We set an ambitious task on innovative development of Belarus. As we see it now, we guessed. However, when we studied the world experience we were disappointed to find out that we are falling behind. Will we survive in the future? If we fall behind, we will be condemned. Nothing or no one will save us: neither potentials nor hydrocarbons will. You see what directions and at what pace the world is developing at.

Belarus stopped being a brain donor. IT must develop all over the country. Space technologies are developing at a fast pace as well.

An electrobus, green technology, new systems.

Belarus came to Moscow with hundreds of innovative developments. Moscow was interested in the inventions of youth.

Before the two Presidents held a meeting, they decided to meet with the representatives of regions.

Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation:
Russia is ready for close cooperation with partners from Belarus for providing sustainable, long-lasting growth of our economies, is ready to build industrial and technological policy, develop infrastructure, and contribute to the development of comfortable business environment. The Forum of Regions is aimed at this. We hope that the discussions held, the signed agreements, confirmed joint programs will make a significant contribution into strengthening of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and into expanding integration in the Eurasian region.

Valentina Matviyenko spoke about the desires of ordinary Russian citizens.

Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation:
I bought two pairs of Belarusian shoes, I like them and I understood that I will wear them with pleasure.

The fare is for the people, the exhibition is for contracts. Nikolai Martynov must provide shoes for Russian consumers. A contract has been signed with Vitebsk shoe holding.

There are thoughts for us to organize the production line. Tyumen region has made a proposal.

MTZ is to sell 300 tractors to Russia. It is six times more than a standard contract.

Fyodor Domotenko, MTZ director general:
As many as 20% of machinery sold to Russia is innovative machinery. From six to 450 horse powers.

Belarus and Russia closely cooperate in space industry. As many as seven mutual drones will be launched into space by 2019.

Sergei Zolotoi, head constructor of the Belarusian space system:
There are no plants in Belarus which make space platforms. We do not have a possibility to launch systems like this one.

Belarus and Russia agreed to cooperate on the level of districts from this year.

Aleksei Shaposhnikov, chairman of the Moscow City Duma:
We will exchange experience from the legal point of view. To discuss legislation innovations. We have things to take over from the Belarusian side.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
As for the commercial side of cooperation it is rather optimistic. As many as 450 million export contracts. The contracts are globally important.

There was heavy rain on the last day of the Forum in Moscow. The rain was as if telling that it is better to overcome difficulties together.
