Belarus, Russia consider cancelling roaming

The 5th forum of regions will be held in Belarus, chairman of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament Mikhail Myasnikovich told media on June 30.

It is proposed to create IT clusters in the border regions of Belarus and Russia. Moreover, the two countries consider cancelling roaming. Within a month, the Ministry of Communications and mobile operators might be able to do this.

Moscow hosted the plenary session of the Fourth Forum of Regions on June 30, where the promising areas of the bilateral cooperation were discussed. Belarus stands for the removal of existing barriers on the common market with Russia and is interested in active industrial cooperation in the Union State. It is necessary to concentrate efforts on this.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
We should concentrate our efforts, as a matter of priority, on the unification, harmonization of national legislations, mass creation of joint companies, the opening of Union State programs and projects, and mutual admission of our countries' subjects in these programs, specialization and concentration of intellectual, industrial, financial and commercial capital in our Union State.
The main topics of the forum were innovative technologies and digital economy. Belarus and Russia should focus on finding effective growth points in this direction.

Presidents of Belarus and Russia Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin are taking part in the plenary session of the Forum of Regions.
