4th Forum of the Regions of Belarus brings largest contract in three years

A package of agreements on cooperation between Belarus and Russia and the first contracts were signed on June 29 in Moscow during the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

One of the most ambitious works was carried out by Belneftekhim enterprises. Partnership agreements worth more than 100 million dollars are concluded. In total there are 15 contracts. The majority of them provide for the supply of raw materials.

Denis Tumash, General Director of OOO Belneftekhim-ROS (Russia):
We are talking the largest contract in three years was signed for the amount of 2.5 billion Russian rubles for the supply of polyester fiber produced by Mogilevkhimvolokno for further processing at production sites in the Russian Federation.

An exhibition of achievements in the innovative and scientific area opened on June 29 during the forum of regions. Dozens of samples of high-tech products are presented here, including in the field of electric transport and metallurgy. Belarusian innovations are exhibited in 14 clusters in several areas.

Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation:
It is important that the governors of both Russia and the leaders of the regions of Belarus show great interest in this exhibition. Today they understand that it is not just necessary to increase the volumes of mutual trade - this is absolutely necessary. But today a new stage in our cooperation is represented by joint ventures, joint large-scale projects, cooperation in high technologies. And we are already witnessing the high degree of economic integration that has developed between Russia and Belarus.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
All samples, all the technologies that are demonstrated are designed at the highest level compared to other similar samples in the world. Thus, we can talk not only about import substitution. This shows that we are competitive and able to feel confident enough in the world markets.

A large-scale fair of Belarusian products was opened on June 28 in Moscow. Such exhibitions are not new for Moscow residents. They are held in the Russian capital quite often, Belarusian cheeses, sour cream or sausage long ago became popular among Moscow residents.
