Valentina Matvienko: Economic integration between Russia and Belarus at high level

The first contracts have already been signed at the IV Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia. The partners expect fruitful results from two days of the business forum. The potential package of agreements is estimated at $400 million.

An exhibition of achievements in the innovation and scientific and technical sphere opened at the forum June 29. Dozens of samples of high-tech products are presented here, including in the field of electric transport and metallurgy. Belarusian innovations are combined at the exhibition in 14 clusters in several areas.

Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation:
It is important that the governors of both Russia and the leaders of the regions of Belarus show great interest in this exhibition. Today they already understand that it is not just necessary to increase the volumes of mutual trade - this is absolutely necessary. But today a new stage in our cooperation is represented by joint ventures, joint large-scale projects, cooperation in high technologies. And we are already witnessing the high degree of economic integration that has developed between Russia and Belarus.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
All samples, all the technologies that are demonstrated are designed at the highest level compared to other similar samples in the world. Thus, we can talk not only about import substitution. This shows that we are competitive and able to feel confident enough in the world markets.

A large-scale fair of Belarusian products was opened on June 28 in Moscow. Such exhibitions are not new for Moscow residents. Such events are held in the Russian capital quite often, so Belarusian cheeses, sour cream and sausage long ago became popular among the residents of Moscow.
