Vietnamese interested in small tractors and buses from Belarus

Vietnam plans to open a facility to produce Belarusian buses. According to preliminary estimates, this will bring about $50 million a year.

It is planned that about 500 buses and other urban transport will be exported from Belarus to Vietnam. The partners came to such an agreement at a business forum that was held in Minsk as part of the official visit of Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang to Belarus.

On June 28, the foreign delegation visited the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). In addition to buses and trucks, the Asian partners were interested in Belarusian bicycles and motorcycles. This type of transport is very popular in Vietnam. By the way, a factory manufacturing Belarusian MAZs will open near Hanoi already in the autumn of 2017. The large project will bring Belarus about 40 million dollars a year.

Phạm Bình Minh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam:
First of all, we are interested in the machinery that meets our conditions - these are small tractors and buses. We are very pleased that MAZ is setting up a joint venture in Vietnam. You will be engaged in localization. We want the joint venture to work successfully. This is a vivid example of our cooperation.

Nguyen Hang, founder of the Belarusian-Vietnamese enterprise:
You will train our expert group, which carries out repairs, warranty service. And after that we will train them. I believe that this will ensure good service and repair of MAZ equipment.

In general, conditions for entering the Vietnamese market are very profitable for Belarusian products. For several years Belarus will supply its equipment to Vietnam without fees, which increases its competitiveness. In general, Belarus is ready to increase various exports to Vietnam. Hanoi, in turn, intends to implement projects in agriculture, industry and tourism.

June 28 the President of Vietnam ends his official visit to Belarus.
