Hospital being built in Belarus' Ostrovets

An inter-district medical center will be created based on a new hospital in Ostrovets, said on June 21 Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vasily Zharko.

On June 21, he was shown the infrastructure in the town where workers of the future nuclear power plant will be working. The hospital, financed thanks to the national investment program, is designed to serve 60,000 residents. Modern diagnostic equipment will allow providing medical services at the highest level. It is expected that the hospital will be launched in 2018.

Vasily Zharko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
Today we once again determined that, with such capacities and areas occupied by the new hospital, it is necessary to create inter-district centers for rehabilitation, probably, a cardiological interdistrict center and maybe an obstetrics and gynecology center. This institution will use new equipment, which will allow make surgeries and provide other kinds of medical care at a high level.

In early 2018, the town plans to begin building a new center for hygiene and epidemiology. In general, Ostrovets is going to have good infrastructure. In parallel with the construction of housing, town authorities are building schools, kindergartens and a sports and recreation complex.
