Scientists of Belarus and China seeking benefits on Silk Road

Scientists of Belarus and China discussed practical steps to implement joint projects on June 15 in Minsk. The main theme of the meeting is the expansion of scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation and the choice of the most successful model for the development of the economic belt of the Silk Road.

Today the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences are implementing projects worth $4 million.

Valery Belsky, Director of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus:
The Belarusian-Chinese analytical development center was established at the Academy of Sciences on the initiative of the Presidential Administration. Yesterday we had the meeting of the supervisory council of this center where we discussed its further development, financing, and the work plan till 2020.

Cai Fang, Vice-President, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences:
Belarus is in the center of Eurasia. This is a great geographical advantage. You also have a high level of education, the development of science and technology. But China has its advantages too. We have extensive experience in building high-tech parks. Today's forum will help to make another step towards bringing our economies closer together.

More than 120 officials and research organizations of Belarus and China take part in the forum.
