Swiss Stadler developing trains for Minsk subway

Swiss trains for Minsk subway: the company "Stadler Minsk" will start making cars for the Minsk subway.

The design office is already working on new cars. This project will become a starting point for entering foreign markets: the company has an opportunity to participate in tenders in all CIS countries.

Peter Shpuler, CEO of Stadler Rail Group:
We are still very pleased that we once made this wise decision to come to Belarus. It's been five years since our production in Minsk opened, and we do not regret the investments made. Now an order has come from Hungary. It's 40 two-story trains, each 150 meters long. And approximately 70% will be created at our plant in Minsk.

Stadler Minsk is an example of successful cooperation between Belarus and Switzerland. Today the businessmen of both countries again discussed opportunities for profitable contracts. Belarus is interested in investment cooperation and broadening the field of activity of Swiss companies in the Belarusian market.

The sides also discussed export on June 16 at the business council in Minsk.

Access of Belarusian products to European markets is quite pressing. The plans include joint projects in the fields of engineering, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.

Vladimir Ulakhovich, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry:
I want to say we have several business councils with our partners from European countries. But the Belarusian-Swiss one is unique in its own way, because it is based on a success story.

Indeed, we can master the most advanced, the most innovative technologies, having its own industrial base.

Today 119 enterprises with Swiss capital operate in Belarus. Their number is increasing. Such business councils help partners find new directions for cooperation.
