Alexander Lukashenko suggests that Alfa-Group expand presence in Belarus

Belarus is interested in expanding the presence of the Alfa-Bank group on the market. June 15 this matter was discussed during the meeting of Alexander Lukashenko with the chairman of the board of directors of the banking group Pyotr Aven.

The businessman said that his company's investment in Belarus already amounts to about $4 billion. The bank is financially stable, with profitability at around 10%.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
Belarus and Russia have close relations but it is surprising that so far such a powerful organization, a group like yours, which has such financial and material capabilities, is not very well represented in Belarus. I would like this matter to further develop and that your group of companies notices Belarus and finds its place in Belarus. I'm ready to make sure that your group can work in the interests of both Belarus and Russia ,in compliance with all the laws and principles of doing business that you are committed to, I know this well.

The Alfa Group Consortium was founded in 1989 and is one of the largest private financial and investment structures in Russia. Its interest in Belarus hinges mainly around retail market and e-business. Currently, a new mobile app is being introduced. The Belarusian bank is one of technological leaders.
