Belarus and Russia continue syncing legislation

The meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia began in Minsk. The agenda includes matters aiming to bring closer the legislations of the two countries.

The event precedes the meeting of the 52nd session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

Already on June 15 it will identify the priority areas for further development of the Union State.

By the way, it was on June 14 that the State Duma of Russia adopted an appeal to the Prime Minister on equating Belarusian driving licenses with Russian ones. From the beginning of June, drivers with foreign documents were banned from working in Russia. The list also includes Belarusians.

This issue has been under discussion for a long time, and the parliamentarians have taken an unprecedented step.

For the first time, Russian deputies turned to their own government with a demand to comply with international norms.

The document emphasizes that Belarusian citizens enjoy a special legal status in Russia.
