New public antismoking decree discussed in Belarus

The draft document was in free access on a popular law portal or a month.

About 1,000 Belarusians added their comments and additions to the decree. Among the most popular suggestions was

to ban smoking on balconies, on children’s playgrounds and at public transport stops.

Yevgeny Kovalenko, director of the National Center of Legal Information:
I want to stress the importance of points in the draft document as banning smoking in buildings and cars where there are children under 14. All the suggestions will be forwarded to the President’s Administration.

E-cigarettes will be equaled to tobacco goods.

It is planned that it will be allowed to sell them from January 1, 2019 only with the procession of a license.
