Passenger and cargo transportation market in Belarus to be liberalized?

Belarusian MPs have considered a number of matters regarding the liberalization of the passenger and cargo market. Among the main innovations is the possibility to use electronic information systems without hindrance.

Andrei Rybak, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Industry, Fuel and Energy Complex, Transport and Communications of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
For example, those who use this system, which is registered in the established order, can avoid using cash registers and similar devices as well as taximeters. Belarusian authorities are going to consider a number of other innovations, which provide an opportunity for the development of such systems as Uber in Belarus. This will also help domestic carriers, who are beginning to actively use these systems.

On June 13, the deputies have approved a number of changes to the Law on State Secrets and the mutual protection of classified information with the United Arab Emirates. In addition, parliamentarians have ratified the loan agreement between Belarus and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The bank will provide 21 million euros to modernize water facilities in some Belarusian cities.
