MPs of Belarus and Israel discuss cooperation in economy, tourism

The road map for cooperation between Belarus and Israel needs further elaboration. This opinion was voiced today by Belarusian and Israeli MPs.

The sides touched on a number of matters of mutual cooperation in economy, tourism, medicine and education. The main thing on the agenda of today is the increase in trade turnover.

Alexander Popkov, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
Unfortunately, the turnover of about $100 million that we have does not suit either country. I believe that we have very great prospects, and I think that the directions that we discussed today will allow us to continue to implement a number of projects that will lead us to very good results in our trade and economic cooperation.

Tali Ploskov, Vice-Speaker of the Knesset, Chairman of the League of Inter-Parliamentary Friendship "Israel-Belarus":
The theme of tourism is actually endless. People who have come from Europe are very nostalgic about the forests and rivers that we see today behind our window. It seems to me that we have a lot of work ahead. We should speak less and do more today.

Further development of the tourist potential of the two countries is facilitated by the already existing mutual visa-free regime for Belarusian and Israeli citizens.
