Belarus ready to increase presence in Russian market

Over the 25 years of diplomatic relations, cooperation between Belarus and Russia has steadily expanded and deepened. This was again confirmed on June 5 in Moscow by the foreign ministries of the two countries.

Currently, trade and economic cooperation is at a high level. Belarus is Russia's main partner among the CIS countries and the fourth in the world. All regions are involved in establishing such close ties. The dialogue is also established in the political and humanitarian spheres.

Undoubtedly, the diplomats of the two countries make their contribution to the development of cooperation. The agenda of the meeting is diverse: from discussing the implementation of the coordinated actions program in the field of foreign policy to relations with NATO. Also today the theme of Eurasian integration is important.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
The format of our dialogue is unique and it is a reflection of the Belarusian-Russian strategic partnership and allied relations. Belarus and Russia managed to take advantage of the maximum opportunities for conducting an active political dialogue at all levels. Tools and mechanisms of our cooperation have been honed for years and they allow us to quickly find solutions to any problems of the bilateral agenda.

Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation:
Russia and Belarus fruitfully interact within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, which has already achieved impressive results in shaping and strengthening the common market. We attach particular importance to the further development of the external relations of the Eurasian Economic Union. Among our unconditional priorities is to increase information work in order to increase its international prestige.

The Foreign Ministers also opened an exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Russia. Here you can see historical photographs and documents telling about the development of friendship between the two countries. Among them there is an agreement on the Union of Belarus and Russia.
