Cui Qiming: Chinese children have warm feelings for Belarusians

An entertaining event timed to Children's Day was organized for children and grandchildren of the settlers from the Chernobyl-hit zone living in the Minsk region.

The meeting was held in Minsk's House of Veterans and it was attended by more than 100 people.

These are families from different parts of the Minsk region, who were forced to leave their native land after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986. But on June 1 almost no one recalled this. The event was filled with joy and lots of surprises.

Vladimir Kamenkov, chairman of the Chernobyl veterans committee:
A reception and a table with sweets has been prepared for children. We have tea, cakes, ice cream, chocolates and so on.

The event was also attended by China's Ambassador Cui Qiming. The meeting was warm and open and there were many impressions.

Cui Qiming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic to the Republic of Belarus:
Children are our future, our hopes. I enjoy the friendship between our peoples. Chinese children have very warm feelings for Belarusian children.

Today, on such a holiday, I congratulate you on behalf of all Chinese children.
