Belarus taking part in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

It is necessary to create a platform in the CIS for the integration of small and medium-sized businesses. This idea was voiced on June 1 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Taking part in it is the Belarusian delegation.

Belarus voiced its position on the need to use the CIS as a platform for promoting economic interests. Today, trading only with goods is not enough.

Vasily Matyushevsky, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
From our point of view, the CIS also has an economic prospect. We talked for a long time that besides the development of the free trade zone it would make sense to form a zone of interaction in terms of services. This topic has been very relevant in recent times. Of course, the story is very difficult. And in this part it is very unfortunate that we are running late. Nevertheless, from our point of view, this can create a serious prospect for giving additional stimuli to the development of the CIS.

The St. Petersburg forum is one of the most authoritative world sites in the field of world economic development. This time it gathered more than 5,000 participants from 25 countries. The main theme of the meeting is the search for a new balance in the global economy.

The potential of Belarus is on a country stand, where the leading enterprises and attractive investment projects are presented.
