VelcomBegom charity run held in Minsk

An unusual charity marathon was held in Minsk on May 27. Participating in the run were professional sportsmen, officials, students and simply people who are not indifferent to others' problems.

The idea of the race is to help children with diseases of the cardiovascular system, therefore the route for the participants was organized in the form of a heart.

Andrey Astashevich, First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus:
I could not refuse. I wanted to show that we need to help children. This is also healthy lifestyle for me personally, which is cool.

Igor Yurkevich, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee:
I could not help but take part in this campaign, after all I am a doctor. At least two hearts!

Someone chose the distance of one kilometer (one heart), someone three, and someone even ten.

The race showed that Belarusians are not indifferent to their compatriots' problems.

Valery Malashko, Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus:
Given the work of the official, which is not the most physically demanding, in this situation I probably won for myself too. In general, the children's surgery won and the mood of all those thousands of hearts that have united with us in a single impulse.

Vyacheslav Smirnov, head of corporate communications, Velcom:
The project "VelcomBegom" is charitable, social. It has already lived for two years; during this time we have held five charitable events. This is the first campaign in 2017, but not the last.

This time we call on everyone to help children with heart diseases.

VELCOM mobile carrier converts each kilometer into rubles. With the help of a mobile app, everyone can share their results with the hashtag #velcombegom. The funds raised will be spent on unique equipment for early diagnosis of heart defects in children.
