CIS heads of state’s Council meeting expected to be held in Sochi October 11

The Council meeting of CIS heads of states is planned to be held in Sochi On October 11, 2017. It was stated by Sergei Lebedev, the Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary.

The agenda of the leaders is currently being formed. It is known that the issues of the agenda will touch upon the CIS integration potential and deepening the partnership of the organization’s members.

I want to emphasize that the process of adapting to the CIS is continuing. It is rather effective. What is its aim? To transfer power from the upper CIS bodies to lower issues which do not carry utmost importance.

A meeting of regular CIS members was held in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on May 30, 2017. As many as 7 issues were on the agenda. Among the issues was the discussion of the heads of government’s meeting, which took place in Kazan on May 26: economic cooperation, transport security and usage of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
