Labor minister: Real wage growth rate in Belarus at 101.5%

Positive dynamism of economic growth does persist in Belarus. On May 30, the Belarusian government summed up the results of the economic performance in January-April 2017.

More than 15,000 jobs have been created in the country during the last five months of 2017.

Among the top employees are mainly new enterprises. The situation in the labor market is gradually stabilizing. All this gives grounds for hoping that the average salary in Belarus will have reached BYN1,000 by the end of 2017. The head of state previously set such a task before the government.

Irina Kostevich, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus:
As for salaries, I want to note here real wage growth for several months now. It has reached 101.5%. As for the task to achieve a salary of BYN1,000 by December 2017, it is indisputable that all regions are moving towards this goal.

After all, salary is a reflection of how the economy is operating as a whole. In Belarus, the GDP level was more than 100%, which allows making positive economic forecasts.
