UN Sustainable Development Goals Coordinator appointed in Belarus

What will the world be like by 2030? Belarus will join the implementation of the global goals of sustainable development. Marianna Schetkina, deputy chairwoman of the Council of the Republic, has been appointed as the national coordinator on this matter.

The corresponding decree was signed by the Belarusian head of state, Alexander Lukashenko.

Agenda 2030 was discussed by world leaders at the UN General Assembly in New York in September 2015.

The Summit on Sustainable Development gathered the largest number of heads of state in the history of the Organization. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko also expressed his vision of the world strategy at the United Nations. 17 sustainable development goals are aimed at eliminating poverty, combating inequality, and addressing the challenges of climate change.
