Belarus, Egypt working on economic cooperation roadmap

Belarus and Egypt are working on a road map for cooperation. Several documents along these lines were signed in Minsk May 25. During talks the sides also discussed the prospects of modernization of the public transport of Egypt by Belarusian specialists. This concerns a wide range of vehicles from buses and trolleybuses to railway cars.

Serious projects in agriculture are planned. We are talking about the use of Belarusian technologies in the construction of agro-towns and dairy farms. The assembly production of Amkodor machinery is about to open.

Vladimir Koltovich, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade:
The assignment given by the presidents of Belarus and Egypt to create a road map as soon as possible has been fulfilled. Today, following the results of our commission's work, we initialed a road map which will be a clear guide to the actions of our parties in the next two years.

Tarek Kabil, Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry:
Belarus and Egypt should strive for economic relations between countries to be as strong as political ones. Over the past few months, there have been several visits of delegations of businessmen, organizations and departments, which confirms the interest of the two sides in developing cooperation.

Belarus will also support Egypt in negotiations on concluding an agreement on free trade with the Eurasian Economic Union. The parties suppose that the agreement will be strategic for both countries, since it will allow uniting efforts in industrial cooperation and investments.
