First cargo train on its way from China to Belarus

The first freight train is on the way from China to Belarus. The train is using a new direct railway, which should become one of the important transport corridors between China and Europe.

The train is expected to arrive in about 10 days.

The first train carries 41 containers of Chinese goods to Belarus: from mobile phones to spare parts for cars.

Previously, export products from southern Chinese cities were exported to Belarus either by sea or by a long rail way.

Now the trains from China will reach the Belarusian border by the shortest route, which will reduce the delivery time and costs.

The total cost of these high-tech goods amounts to about $7 million.

As the demand for logistics services grows the Chinese side plans to extend the railway route further to Hamburg.
