Carlos Davila: Ecuador appreciates relations with Belarus

Belarus and Ecuador will remain committed to the course chosen earlier, said Carlos Davila, the head of the Ecuadorian diplomatic mission in Belarus.

On May 24, Ecuador underwent an important political moment - the final of the presidential election campaign.

The inauguration of the elected head of state, Lenín Moreno, was held in the capital of the country, Quito. He won a confident victory at the elections held in April.

Belarus and Ecuador are linked by friendly relations: a political dialogue has been established, and a legislative base for investment promotion is being formed. A number of important economic agreements have been reached between the states. For example, Belarus is taking part in the development of oil fields in Amazonian Selva of Ecuador using the latest technologies.

Carlos Larrea Davila, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador to the Republic of Belarus:
I would say these are "brotherly" relations. We felt this attitude of Belarus very well when the earthquake in April last year happened in our country.

What Belarus did has further strengthened our relations.

People who worked with the new president, Lenin Moreno, stood at the origins of the Belarusian-Ecuadorian relations. Therefore, we are confident that with the advent of the new president, relations between our countries will be strengthened in all areas.

A Belarusian parliamentary delegation is also taking part in the inauguration.

On May 23, an exhibition of paintings opened in Minsk on the eve of one of the national holidays of Ecuador. In their works, students of the Belarusian Academy of Arts portrayed their vision of Ecuador.
