Alexander Shumilin: Belarus-China cooperation is developing dynamically

An incubator of high-tech projects will be created in Belarus, and the building of an innovative center will soon be started in the industrial park. The development of scientific and technological cooperation in countries which are on the Silk Way was discussed at the forum in Minsk on May 23, 2017. The forum gathered representatives of nearly 100 organizations from 12 countries. The largest delegation was from China.

Creation of high-tech plants and products of tomorrow is one of the aims of the Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park. AS many as 13 residents are in the park at the moment.

Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus:
Cooperation between Belarus and China is developing dynamically. There are 28 joint projects today; the quality of these projects is growing. Projects are not fundamental; they are more action-orientated now. The volume of investments is increasing.

Li Haixing, director general of the CJSC “Industrial Park Development Company”:
It is planned that the building of a new project, an innovative center, will be started in the Industrial Park this year. Its main aim is to prepare Belarus-China relations for the commercialization of joint scientific and technological achievements. The necessary infrastructure has already been created; there are all the conditions for attracting investors.

Zhang Zheng Joon, secretary general of the Association of scientific and technological parks and areas of high and new technologies “Silk Way”:
China has a huge market; Belarus has great talent and technologies. Constant visits help to make steps forward for uniting efforts of two sides.

The current forum is not only a scientific conference, but a possibility to sign agreements between different techoparks of different countries, which work in the innovative sector. Today Belarus and China exchange experience in the spheres of radiolocation, optronics, nanomaterials and gene engineering.
