First batch of BelGee vehicles expected in June

The first industrial batch of BelGee cars will come off the assembly line in June, said Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko at the opening of the Belarusian Industrial Forum.

Three main shops (welding, painting and assembly) will be prepared for test drive by the middle of June. During the three days of continuous operation, 222 crossovers will be assembled at the plant.

Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
Next, we plan two more models, by September. By the end of 2017 we must have an enterprise with a capacity of 60,000 cars a year. If sales go well, the plant has a potential for 120,000 cars per year. For Belarus, this is the first such project.

Recently, Belarusian industry has demonstrated good growth rates, with a growth of 5.5% in the first four months of 2017. The Belarus government expects to maintain indicators until the end of the year. Today Belarusian machine-building products are in demand too. There are more orders than Belarusians are able to produce.

The industrial forum, which opened in Minsk for the 20th time, is set to discuss innovations and technologies in the industry. The exhibition brought together delegations from different countries: the Eurasian Economic Union, the CIS and foreign countries.
