About 300 investors gather at economic forum in Gomel

63 million dollars is the amount of investments attracted to the Gomel region in just one day. The largest regional economic forum in Belarus was held on May 19 in Gomel.

The proposals of the region are watched by about 300 investors from 15 states. Businessmen from the USA, Denmark, Russia, Germany, Italy, Austria are ready for profitable investments in the Belarusian economy. They were presented more than 150 investment projects in 15 industries: woodworking, processing of secondary resources, food production, and tourism.

Yuri Firko, representative of the Belarusian-Danish company:
Belarus is an interesting market for us. There is a customs space that Belarus shares with Russia, with Kazakhstan. We believe this is reasonable, this is correct and profitable.

Igor Mirović, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Republic of Serbia):
Today we saw the powerful economic potential of the Gomel region. We see many areas for joint cooperation. The Vojvodina region is one of the most developed regions of Serbia. And I think that $500 million of annual turnover between us is a goal that can be fully achieved.

Traditional real estate and land sites tenders also took place within the framework of the forum. For the first time in 2017, investors were offered to invest in scientific research of Gomel scientists.
