Belarus, China may establish mutual visa-free regime for 30 days

Belarus and China are exploring the possibility of introduction of a mutual visa-free regime for up to 30 days. This topic was discussed at the meeting of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in Beijing.

Now there is a visa-free regime between the countries for holders of diplomatic or service passports, as well as tourist groups. In addition, there are arrangements for short trips to some Chinese cities.

The PRC is also on the list of 80 countries whose citizens can stay in Belarus without a visa for five days. According to statistics, the Chinese are the most active and highest-spending tourists in the world. In 2016 alone, about 120 million people left the country, of which 50 million visited European countries.

Only a few thousand Chinese citizens come to Belarus every year, but half of them stay in the country for more than a month. The simplification of visa formalities will certainly attract more guests from China to Belarus.
