Belarus President: Industrial park Great Stone expected to be like city of the future

Belarus and Austria are opening a new page in their relations. Yesterday, the leaders of the countries of the Silk Road adopted the final communiqué of the forum "One Belt, One Road". The large-scale summit brought together heads of state and government, as well as heads of major international organizations. Alexander Lukashenko also made his proposals at the roundtable.

Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus President:
Belarus became the first country in Europe and one of the first countries in the world to join the construction of the economic belt of the "Silk Road" in a number of directions. Realizing the principles of "Community of Common Destiny" Belarus and China are jointly promoting the project of the Great Stone Industrial Park. And this is not only a design; it is already practice. It is being built as a city of the future - eco-friendly, innovative and comfortable for work and for life. The depth of the project lies in that together we create not only infrastructure, but also laws on which this key area of the economic belt of the "Silk Road" is developing. By the way, Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping visited this site and called it a "pearl".

Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping then met at the forum. Both leaders discussed areas of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, visa-free regime between the countries and counter-terrorism issues.

During the summit in Beijing, the Belarusian side concluded a number of contracts. One of them is that China is ready to open its market for Belarusian beef.

An agreement was initialed in Beijing permitting the supply of this meat. The document may receive official status in July, during the visit to Minsk of the head of the Chinese veterinary department. Specialists from China studied the Belarusian technology of beef production and noted that it meets Chinese requirements. The price of this meat in China is very high. Today Belarus is the largest exporter of beef in the post-Soviet space and ranks seventh in the world in terms of beef supplies.
