One Belt, One Road in Beijing: Who will take part in the global forum?

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko departed for a working visit to the People's Republic of China on May 13. The President will take part in the forum of international cooperation One Belt, One Road. A bilateral meeting with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping is planned. Meetings and negotiations with other foreign leaders are also expected. Our special correspondent Olga Yurut is now in China and is going to tell us more on the story.

It's already late night in Beijing. However, as we can see, the city does not sleep. First, this is a day off and people are talking a walk in the evening. And, secondly, they are preparing to receive the guests of the forum.

These days, international meetings with foreign colleagues are planned. The Belarusian leader will take part in the forum One Belt, One Road.

By the way, the Belarusian President was one of the first to be invited.

Despite a busy schedule, Xi Jinping and Alexander Lukashenko are scheduled to meet. The leaders of Belarus and China always meet at the first opportunity to discuss joint projects. Work continues on the agreements reached during the September visit of the Belarus President to Beijing. The companies implement with all responsibility the agreements signed during the meeting of Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping in Minsk.

Ruslan Drozd, Director of the Beijing representative office of Belarusian Potash Company:
We signed a major memorandum with the company Sinochem until 2020 during Xi Jinping's visit to Belarus. And that's why we are now working in the framework of memorandums. Market conditions are different but we always find an opportunity to agree.

Participation was confirmed by the first persons of almost 30 countries. Among them are Belarus, Russia, Switzerland, Argentina, the Czech Republic, Turkey. Civil servants, scientists, entrepreneurs, and bankers will also take part in the forum. Over 4,000 journalists from all over the world have already registered to cover the event.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, the IMF Managing Director and the President of the World Bank are expected to partake too.

Kiryl Rudy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China:
Within the framework of this visit, it is planned to sign contracts for the supply of milk for a total amount of more than $13 million. The second direction is the services sector and, in particular, tourism.

Belarus is ready to become the nodal platform of the Belt in the Eurasian region and an important transport and logistics link. Belarus is involved in two of the four key routes of the land-based part of Silk Road.

The Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone is already called the largest of the PRC's projects abroad. It will be a kind of a point of support of the economic belt.

Our Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone" has a very advantageous geographical position. It is located in the center of Europe. All trains that go from China to Europe must pass through Belarus.

The key events of the forthcoming forum are the opening ceremony, a round table for the leaders and the summit meeting.

Chinese and foreign guests will discuss infrastructure, investment in production, trade and economic cooperation.
